God Is Not Microwavable!

Have you ever heard the phrase “God is not microwavable”? At first glance, this statement may seem confusing or even nonsensical. But upon further reflection, it can be a powerful reminder of the importance of patience, perseverance, and trust in the journey of faith.

In our fast-paced, instant-gratification culture, we are accustomed to getting what we want quickly and easily. We have microwaves that can cook a meal in minutes, smartphones that can connect us to the world in seconds, and delivery services that can bring us almost anything we desire within hours. It’s no wonder that we often expect the same kind of instant results in our spiritual lives.

We may pray for something and expect an immediate answer. We may strive to live a holy life for a short period and then become frustrated when we don’t see the results we hoped for. We may even lose faith altogether if God doesn’t seem to be responding to our requests or if we face challenges and hardships that we can’t understand.

But the truth is that God’s ways are not our ways, and his timing is not our timing. Just as you cannot microwave everything and expect it to turn out perfectly, some things in life require a more measured and deliberate approach. God is not a genie who grants our every wish on demand, nor is he a vending machine that dispenses blessings for a few coins.

Instead, God invites us to trust him and to walk with him in faith, even when we don’t understand or when the journey is difficult. He asks us to be patient and to wait for his timing, knowing that his plans for us are good and that he is always working for our ultimate good, even when we can’t see it.

In the Bible, we see many examples of people who had to wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Abraham and Sarah had to wait decades for the birth of their son Isaac. Moses spent 40 years in the desert before he was ready to lead the Israelites out of slavery. Joseph endured years of slavery and imprisonment before he became second in command of Egypt.

These stories remind us that God’s timing is perfect, even if it doesn’t align with our expectations or desires. They also show us that God is faithful to his promises and that he never abandons us, even in the darkest moments of our lives.

Have you ever found yourself in a difficult situation, wondering how you got there? Maybe you lost your job, went through a breakup, or received a difficult medical diagnosis. In those moments, it can be tempting to blame circumstances or bad luck for our predicament. However, as believers, we know that there is a higher power at work in our lives – God.

It’s not by circumstances, but by God that we are where we are today. He has a plan for our lives, and even though we may not always understand it, we can trust that it is for our ultimate good. In the Bible, we see countless examples of people who faced difficult circumstances, yet were able to overcome them through their faith in God.

Take the story of Joseph, for example. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused of a crime, and thrown into prison. Yet, even in the midst of his darkest moments, Joseph trusted God’s plan for his life. He eventually rose to become a powerful ruler in Egypt, saving his family and countless others from famine.

Throughout history, light has been a powerful symbol of the divine. In many religions and spiritual traditions, light represents illumination, clarity, understanding, and hope. It is no wonder that people often describe moments of spiritual insight as “seeing the light”. But what does it mean to say that God is the light?

The idea of God as light is found in many religious texts and traditions. In Christianity, for example, Jesus is often referred to as the “light of the world”. This metaphor is used to describe how Jesus brings clarity and understanding to the world, and how he illuminates the darkness of sin and ignorance. In Hinduism, the goddess Durga is associated with the light of knowledge, which dispels the darkness of ignorance.

But the idea of God as the light goes beyond just a metaphor. It points to a deeper truth about the nature of God. Just as physical light illuminates the world around us, God’s light can bring spiritual illumination, revealing truths that might otherwise be hidden. “Lord, have mercy on us. We have put our hope in you. Protect us day by day, and save us in times of trouble. In Jesus’ name. Book of Isaiah 33:2.

As we embark on this journey of inspiration and countless blessings that God has bestowed on us and given without measure, we must keep in mind that “faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.” -Dr Martin Luther King

There are many battlefields, but God is able! “Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil.” Ephesians 6:11 Today we have the privilege to be in the land of the living when others may have taken their last breath.

This was almost my condition in November 2005 when I suffered a brain aneurysm that almost took my life. As the doctors told me to call my friends and family, I could tell they were indirectly telling me that I might not make it.

Our father who are in Heaven restored me to new life after my surgery, and I began to live more faithfully and abundantly. Whatever you may be going through or are about to go through, know with reassurance the love that God has for us all. No one is left behind! As children of God we will have struggles, and it is important that we conquer them all. It is essential that we pray without ceasing, meditate, be humble, and lift each other up! What can be done by God’s power is infallible!

Remember: Satan is a liar!
