They All Going to Laugh at You:

Father, I pray, whoever reads this, your divine power and love fill their minds,

hearts, and souls In Jesus Name.

Sometimes, when we stand up for something we deeply believe, we’re met with laughter, ridicule, and criticism. The world around us can become a hostile place, filled with voices that question and belittle our convictions. But even in the midst of those mocking voices, God’s purpose within us remains firm and unmoved. In moments when we feel the sting of judgment, we can hold on to God’s promises and trust that His plans for us are evident.

Trusting God’s Call Despite Naysayers:

The path of faith can often be a lonely one. When you’re following a calling that others can’t see or understand, it’s easy to feel isolated. This was the case for many people in the Bible, including Job, who faced relentless trials and accusations from his friends. Job knew, however, that he wasn’t called to satisfy the opinions of others. As he stated in Job 13:3-5, he would rather speak to God than defend himself to those who couldn’t understand his suffering.

“I Remember a Time…”

When I returned to college, I was excited yet apprehensive. Due to a medical condition, I sometimes struggled to retain information, and it took me longer to absorb lessons. One day, my professor asked for feedback on the subject we were studying. In that moment, I drew a blank, forgetting everything we’d discussed. The room filled with awkward silence as my classmates chuckled, and I felt the sting of embarrassment. It was in that moment I heard the gentle reminder: My child, remember that I called you here.

Persevering Through Mockery:

Just like Job, I chose to believe that God had a purpose for me that extended beyond the ridicule. Mockery may shake us momentarily, but it cannot diminish God’s plan for our lives. When people laughed at me, I remembered Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This powerful truth reminded me that I wasn’t alone. The world’s laughter paled in comparison to the love and assurance God had given me.

Standing Firm in Purpose:

In times when ridicule hits hard, we are reminded of our need to lean on God’s strength and direction. Jesus Himself endured mocking, yet He continued to do the Father’s will without hesitation. Hebrews 12:2 calls us to “fix our eyes on Jesus… who endured the cross, scorning its shame.” By following His example, we find the courage to rise above others’ opinions and pursue the path God has set for us.

Finding Strength in God’s Assurance

Ultimately, when we face opposition for our beliefs or convictions, we can find comfort in the story of Job and in God’s faithfulness. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has plans to prosper and not harm us. Even if others mock or misunderstand our journey, God’s words over our lives remain unchanged. He will never let His promises be defeated by doubt or scorn.
